Utility Incentives

The North Carolina GreenPower Production Incentive is a statewide green power program designed to encourage the use of renewable energy.  The program pays people to create electricity generated by solar, wind, small hydro (10 megawatts or less) and biomass resources.  For more information, visit: http://www.ncgreenpower.org

Progress Energy has a Home Energy Improvement Program for residential customers who increase the energy efficiency of a home. The rebate ranges from $120 to $450 and covers items such as heat pumps, air conditioners, duct/air sealing, insulation, and windows. 

PSNC Energy has an Appliance Rebate Program for residential customers who purchase energy efficient gas water heaters, furnaces, and boilers. The rebate is $100. 

Duke Energy has a Smart Saver Rebate Program for installing energy efficient heat pumps and air conditioners. The rebate ranges from $200 to $300.  Click here more information.  

Progress Energy, PSNC Energy, and Duke Energy give rate discounts to people who own homes that meet or exceed Energy Star standards. Progress Energy and Duke Energy both give a 5% discount on the monthly electricity bill, and PSNC Energy gives a $.05 discount per therm on the natural gas bill.
